New Chick-Fil-A approved for Gulfview Plaza site on U.S. 98 in Destin

DESTIN —  The Destin City Council unanimously approved a major development order for a new Chick-Fil-A fast-food restaurant at 1021 U.S. Highway 98 E., which currently is the site of the vacant Gulfview Plaza shopping center.

The shopping center will be demolished to make way for the restaurant. It will replace the current Chick-Fil-A that stands a few parcels to the east at 1063 U.S. 98 E.

In its new spot, the new restaurant will have more room for the “stacking” of customers’ vehicles heading through the drive-thru without backing up onto U.S. 98 as they do at the existing Chick-Fil-A, according to city information.
