DeFuniak Springs man accused of possessing over 200 images of child pornography
DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 45-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after Walton County investigators reportedly found more than 200 images and videos of child pornography in his possession.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on March 22 regarding an image of child pornography that had been uploaded to a social media platform, according to a WCSO news release.
The image was reportedly uploaded from a home on South Shore Line Circle in DeFuniak Springs, where investigators executed a search warrant Tuesday morning.
The sole occupant of the residence, William Gomes III, was interviewed and allegedly admitted to being in possession of the images and videos, which depict children under the age of 9, including infants, engaging in sexual conduct and being sexually assaulted.
