Niceville man accused of possessing, sending images of child sexual abuse

NICEVILLE — A 31-year-old man was arrested this week after allegedly sending at least 10 images of child sexual abuse to other individuals through a Google account, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office news release. 

A cyber tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and subsequent investigation by the OCSO led to the April 22 arrest of Brian Davis Cowan, of Niceville, on 15 counts of possession of child pornography.

Cowan also faces 10 counts of transmission of child pornography as well as a charge for use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony.

The victims depicted in the photos appeared to range in age from around 3 to 9, according to the release. 

Cowan was released from jail on April 24 on multiple bonds ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, according to Okaloosa County Jail records.
