Okaloosa County deputies searching for two suspects linked to gunshots near Holt

HOLT — One man has been apprehended and two other suspects remain at large after shots were fired Tuesday evening. 

In a social media post, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and other law enforcement agencies were searching for three armed men believed to be linked to shots fired in the area of Poplar Head Church Road north of Holt.

The suspects reportedly ran into some nearby woods; one of the men was detained about 10 p.m. Tuesday. The Sheriff’s Office has not released his name. 

The investigation is continuing and law officers still are searching for the two remaining suspects. One of them is described as being Black with dreadlocks and the other is described as having light skin.

The OCSO is asking residents in the area to keep their property secure and to report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
