Seven arrested during narcotics search at Crestview home

CRESTVIEW — Seven people were arrested in connection with a narcotics search warrant executed at a home in late January, according to a news release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

A search of the home at 821 S. Brett St. in Crestview on Jan. 28 turned up used syringes, methamphetamine, fentanyl and other narcotics and paraphernalia, according to arrest reports associated with the case.

Law enforcement has executed three search warrants at the location since 2019. Two reported overdoses at the home also have occurred since November 2020, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Eleven people were at the home on Jan. 28. Seven were arrested as a result of the search warrant:

  • Corey Michael Edwin Jones, 33 — Keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity, possession of controlled substance without prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Kelly Lee Hutto, 40 — Possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting without violence
  • Jeffery Dale Hawkins, 41 — Tampering with or fabricating physical evidence
  • Elizabeth Ann Brown, 35 — Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Roy Anthony Chamniss Jr., 28 — Resisting without violence
  • Billy Joe Williamson II, 31 — Resisting without violence

Additionally, a 17-year-old was arrested for possession of a controlled substance without prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The search warrant was executed by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force. The task force, which includes the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and Crestview Police Department, is focused on joining forces to combat illegal narcotics in the county.
