Okaloosa COVID vaccine: Next round of DOH vaccine registrations begins at noon

FORT WALTON BEACH — Beginning at noon today, people aged 65 and above can begin scheduling appointments for the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations through the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County.
Registration will open at noon Wednesday, Jan. 13, both online and for scheduling over the phone. Appointments must be made in advance. Anyone born in January 1956 or earlier and non-hospital health care workers with direct patient contact are eligible for a vaccine appointment.
To make an appointment online, visit the visit the Online Booking Portal at eventbrite.com or myokaloosa.com/bcc/covid-19/vaccine. Google Chrome is the recommended browser for using the Eventbrite website.
DOH-Okaloosa encourages people to register online. Callers might experience delays, dropped calls and busy signals because of high call volume. Those who choose to register by phone can schedule their appointment at 850-344-0566.

Because of high demand, tickets online might be marked "sold" before a user's registration is completed. Completed orders display an order number and users will receive a confirmation email. Tickets also are available by phone until sold out.
Citizens are asked not to call to schedule an appointment before noon. Appointments cannot be made via email, and appointments are non-transferable.

- Tuesday, Jan. 19 — 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., DOH-Okaloosa Fort Walton Beach, 221 Hospital Drive N.E., Fort Walton Beach

As an alternative to being vaccinated through the Florida Department of Health, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday that Publix locations in Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, Bay and Escambia counties will offer vaccinations, by appointment only, to residents of the respective counties age 65 and older.
