A story on a group gathering at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, prior to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ stay-at-home edit Wednesday, to pray for medical providers drew a variety of comments from The Northwest Florida Daily News’ Facebook page fans. Here are a few of the 100+ comments.

Joe Tarro: I'm a nurse at FWBMC and I thought your gathering was touching and uplifting. A very heartfelt thank you back to all of you.

Layne Reynolds-Bonanno: Joe Tarro it was so special ... it is always wonderful to see how God moves during difficult times.

Thelma Stevens: Thank you! I greatly appreciate the prayers for our medical community.

Cheryl Ann: A group of people gathered?!?! As we are told not to do.

Shawnalee Crecelius: I wish I would have been able to attend this! Amazing people doing amazing things

Debbie Streit Hughes: Keeping social distance and praying for those working their tails off right now for the ill is amazing and uplifting. Good job people!

Abigail Bartleson: So if people do this exact thing to enjoy the beach, this whole page explodes with "people are so selfish, stay home." But if people get together to pray, that is somehow ok with y'all? We are doomed.

Melissa Maiden: You guys are awful. I’m a nurse at this hospital. These people were spread far enough apart and not touching. Our patients are not able to have visitors at all and if you just could have seen the smiles on some of their faces seeing these people gathered in prayer for them. They have no contact with family other than phone and this was special to them and to us.

Sarah Noel: No reason to be cynical during these times. Goodwill towards others is one of the best traits a person can have.

Margaret Marge Bowers: Sorry but y'all need to do your praying at home!
