Michael Andrew McClard

Michael Andrew McClard, went into the arms of his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on August 21, 2021, in Panama City, Florida. He was taken by Covid and Pneumonia. Michael was born on April 17, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and two uncles, one of which was Bill Heldreth, a business partner and wonderful friend.

Mike is survived by his father and mother, Rev. Mark and Evelyn McClard, his two sons, Kirk and Thomas (and Tierra) McClard, a granddaughter, Rosabelle McClard, his brother Daniel (and Heather) McClard, his nieces, Ashley and Reagan McClard, his nephews, Dylan and Connor McClard, aunts, uncles, and cousins from Florida, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and California.

Mike attended Richburg Middle School and Crestview High School; were he was Student Body President. He attended briefly, Liberty University. He was a Marine, for which he always felt honored. He was an owner of four car washes and a laundry in Panama City Beach, Florida. He also owned a dirt moving business there.

Mike was featured in Readers Digest under the "Today's Heroes" section for saving, while Mike was a teenager, a neighbor boy, who was on fire and burning to death.

Mike made a profession of faith and was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Crestview. At his death, he was a member of NorthStar Church on the Beach in Panama City Beach, where he started a ministry, that he called "God's Grease Monkeys." About a dozen men would fix up and paint old cars and donate them to a needy family.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the First Baptist Church of Crestview on September 4, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., which will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. Derrick Bennet. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at the Hancock Whitney Crestview Financial Center. Proceeds will go to a scholarship for a student from Crestview High School, who is going to a Christian College. It is the "Michael McClard Memorial Scholarship Fund." The plan for interment is for Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida, sometime later.

"The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21). Thank you, Lord, for the fifty-two year "loan" of Michael Andrew McClard!
