American Elite Molding, which has been in Crestview for 22 years, has been deemed an essential part of the American workforce and told to stay open by the Department of Homeland Security in the face of the COVID-19 epidemic.

CRESTVIEW — American Elite Molding, calling itself "America's leading manufacturer of cable ties" has been identified as an essential part of the workforce by the Department of Homeland Security, according to a press release from AEM.

Because of this, AEM says it will continue its normal work schedule at its manufacturing facility, which runs 24 hours per day, seven days per week and 365 days per year with extra guidelines for protecting the health and safety of its employees.

"We are proud to be contributing to the safety of the United States through our work," American Elite Molding Founder and CEO Robert Sires said in the press release. "Our products may be simple, but they are used in complicated items such as respirators that are essential to public health measures and efforts to defeat COVID-19. Our Florida manufacturing plant will continue to operate at full capacity around the clock, and we will continue to follow CDC guidelines for keeping our employees safe and healthy as they work for this common cause."

AEM has manufactured nylon cable zip ties for the last 22 years in Crestview and make cable ties in a variety of lengths, tensile strengths, colors and accessories like mounting pads and cable clamps.
