CRESTVIEW — A 1,500-gallon sewage spill has been reported to the Department of Environmental Protection by the city of Crestview, according to a notice from the DEP.


The Sunday night spill at 337 Lakeview Drive made it into the Red Wash Branch, which is a stream just outside of Crestview.

The site was cleared and treated with lime.


City officials notified the DEP as well as the Department of Health.


Samples are being taken of the Red Wash Branch to determine impact.


The spill comes just over a year to the date of a 400-gallon sewage spill into the same body of water, according to news accounts.
