CRESTVIEW — A family of four is safe after their single-engine plane was forced to land in an open field short of a runway at Bob Sikes Airport near Crestview on Tuesday afternoon because of engine problems.
The incident happened around 4 p.m., according to a press release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
No one was injured. The pilot, his wife and their two children were on board at the time.
No other details are available. The FAA is investigating.
