CRESTVIEW — Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is preparing to install its new pastor, the Rev. Raymond D. Parent.


The service is at 4 p.m. Jan. 5 at the church, 178 W. North Ave., Crestview.


The Rev. Parent completed a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1999. He served as an officer with distinction in various capacities, ranging from flying the F-4G as an electronic warfare officer and completing 30 combat missions, to commanding a squadron of air liaison officers with the 82d Airborne Division, where he logged 140 parachute jumps in both static-line and military free fall.


He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in May 2003. The Rev. Parent comes to this area from Detroit with his wife, Cindy, and his daughter, Grace, the youngest of five children.


All are invited to join in welcoming the Rev. Parent to the Crestview community. A fellowship meal will follow the installation service.
