Troy University will waive application fees for NWFSC students. Through a scholarship, students from NWFSC will be eligible for a 10 percent tuition reduction rate.

NICEVILLE — Troy University and the Northwest Florida State College announced a partnership between the two learning institutions Friday on NWFSC’s campus.


“It all begins at home,” said Jack Hawkins, chancellor of Troy University.

Hawkins said at Friday’s event that Troy University will waive application fees for NWFSC students. Through a scholarship, students from NWFSC will be eligible for a 10 percent tuition reduction rate.


“We want this to be a meaningful partnership.” Hawkins said.


Hawkins also said that while it is not in writing, students from NWFSC are eligible for a $1,000 study abroad scholarship as well.


“We want our students to be globally competitive, globally aware, and well-prepared when they walk across that stage and receive that degree,” Hawkins said.


The event ended with Hawkins and Devin Stephenson, the president of NWFSC signing for the partnership.
