CRESTVIEW — The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public hearing for Northwest Florida roadwork on State Road 85, and north of Interstate 10 and from south of Southcrest Drive to Hospital Drive.
The hearing begins as an open house at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Warriors Hall, 201 Stillwell Ave., Crestview, with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.
The intent of these projects is to resurface and make safety improvements along 11 miles of SR 85 from north of SR 123 (Roger J. Clary Highway) to Hospital Drive.
Additional improvements include sidewalk construction, lighting enhancements, turn lane extension and construction, signalization improvements, access management modifications at selected locations, drainage improvements, and ramp access improvements at Interstate 10.
No additional right-of-way is needed. Bids for construction are currently scheduled to be received winter 2021.
