The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society, a.k.a. PAWS, is a nonprofit dedicated to giving unwanted animals refuge, medical care, nourishment, and an opportunity for a second chance at life. We also protect them from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance. Each year, we handle more than 7,000 animals, and our animal control officers respond to 12,000 calls. Since 1995, our vet clinic has sterilized more than 48,000 animals.
Pictures with the most votes win the prizes. It can be any kind of pet – a dog, cat, horse, hamster, snake, bearded dragon, tarantula, etc.
Pictures of wild animals, including that cute lizard on the window screen, do not qualify. Pet rocks also don't qualify.
Pets must live in Okaloosa County.
Pets do NOT have to be PAWS alumni, though we'd love to see their happy lives now!
