Motorists and residents along U.S. Highway 90 have been treated to the unusual sight of a caravan of covered wagons, pulled by horses, heading east.
The wagons, along with a number of horseback riders, are heading to the Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo, which starts Wednesday in Bonifay.
Walton County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Corey Dobridnia said the group comes through the area every year.
Derrick Harris, who coaches youth soccer for Walton County, shot a video of the caravan as the school bus he was riding in traveled by them in the opposite direction Monday afternoon.
The group flew a mix of Confederate and Trump flags, witnesses said.
"You could see horse dung on the road from Dorcas to Girl Scouts Road," said Derrick's wife, LeeLee, who shared the video with the Daily News. She also saw the group Tuesday morning.
Dobridnia said deputies were keeping an eye on the caravan, but that the wagons were mostly staying on the shoulder and they'd had no problems with the procession.
