FORT WALTON BEACH — Okaloosa Public Arts invites all artists to submit up to three works of art depicting choice of subject matter to be professionally judged and exhibited on all three floors of the Okaloosa County Administration Building at 1250 Eglin Parkway, Shalimar, from Sept. 5, 2019, through September 2020. Prizes will be awarded at an opening reception in the administration building on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Reception begins at 2 p.m. with awards at 3 p.m. Please refer to guidelines below or go to https://www.okaloosapublicarts.org for more information and to enter online. No images are required with entry.

Deadline for Entry is Aug. 16 and cost is $35 for up to three works of art. Artwork take-in will be from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-5 p.m. Sept. 5 at Okaloosa County Administration Building. Artwork from 2018/19 exhibit must be picked up at this time.

Artwork previously shown in OPA shows is not eligible. Bas-Relief or other wall-mounted or free-standing sculptures are not eligible. Work should have been created in the last two years.

Artwork will remain on the administration building walls for one year. If you sell a piece during this time frame, you must replace it on the wall with another piece similar in size. Work must be family friendly. Any work deemed inappropriate at check-in will not be hung in the show.

Artwork must be framed and ready to hang with wire for hanging or appropriate gallery wrapped with finished edges. No saw-tooth hangers will be accepted. Artwork should not be smaller than 16 x 20 framed or exceed 36 x 60 framed. Artwork must be able to be handled by one installer.

Prizes include $1,000 for best in show, $800 for first, $500 for second; $300 for third, and $50 for honorable mentions.
