DAYTONA BEACH — A nine-month-old baby was left inside a Walmart shopping cart after two of three women fled from the store when they were confronted by security after bagging nearly $200 in children’s toys and clothing, according to a report from the Daytona Beach Police Department.

When Steele was asked who were the infant's parents, she was uncooperative and did not provide any information, reports state.

The three women are charged with child neglect, the report states.

In addition to child neglect, Steele is also charged petit theft in the first degree. Steele tried “to obstruct the view of others via (towels/sheets).”
