DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Law enforcement recently helped an unusual trio found on the run — horses.

According to a press release, officers from the DeFuniak Springs Police Department were called to North 1st Street in reference to three horses running loose.

The officers' main concern came down to preventing the horses from getting hit or causing an accident when they veered onto State Road 8, the release said.

The officers were able to corral them into an area using “horse whisperer” techniques, which they say seemed to work, the press release said.

Walton County Animal Control soon arrived and was able to locate the owners who live in the area. The horses were not injured.
