David Williams, 62, spent 22 years donating blood at and reached 100 gallons.

One human donating 100 gallons of blood deserves some kind of an award or at least acknowledgement.

David Williams, 62, spent the past 22 years donating blood at OneBlood Leesburg Donor Center, one donation every one to two weeks, News4Jax reported. This week, he reached his 100th gallon.

Williams is a car mechanic and lives in Tavares, Fla. He isn’t the only one who's donated 100 or more gallons in his lifetime. Harold Mendenhall started in 1977 and reached 100 gallons in 2013. Charles “Charlie” Hamilton celebrated his 70th birthday by donating his 100th gallon and reached 150 last year.

Blood saves lives, and hospitals are in constant need for it. Want to donate in your town? Find more information here.
