CRESTVIEW — A condemned Crestview home was a total loss Wednesday night after a fire lit at the residence on Bay Street.

The Crestview Fire Department responded to the fire about 5:30 p.m. on the 700 Block of Bay Street, according to a social media post from the department.

Corey Winkler, public information officer for the fire department, said this was the second fire at the home in the past few weeks.

"We'd been having issues with vagrants," Winkler said. "It's an issue we've been having with that particular house for a long time. We had even set up no trespassing signs."

Firefighters worked for about 30 minutes after their arrival to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.

The fire was determined to have been an act of arson. The Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives Investigations is investigating.

Okaloosa County EMS and Crestview Police Department also assisted with the incident.
