CRESTVIEW — The Army 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) soldier reported missing last week was found and arrested over the weekend in South Florida.
Sgt. Greco A. Tucker, 23, was located by a Collier County sheriff’s deputy at 8:05 p.m. Sunday and charged with resisting arrest with violence and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. According to Collier County jail records, there is no bond set for Tucker’s release and he has a court date scheduled for Feb. 11.
Officials with the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne)weren’t immediately available Monday for comment.
Tucker was reported missing Jan. 14 from his Crestview apartment after failing to appear for a morning formation at the 7th Group compound near Crestview. Friends said he was last seen at the compound on Jan. 11.
Crestview police said there were no signs of forced entry into Tucker’s apartment, and nothing inside the apartment appeared to have been disturbed. His white 2014 Dodge Charger was also missing. There was no suspicion of foul play, police said.
Authorities last week saw digital activity on a financial account belonging to Tucker coming from South Florida. Police were dispatched in connection with the account activity but did not locate Tucker, Crestview Police Department spokesman Brian Hughes said.
