TALLAHASSEE – A 7-year-old child was killed Sunday evening in a traffic crash on Interstate 10 in Jackson County.

Heather Nicole Foster, 34, of Tallahassee was driving a Chevy Spark east on Interstate 10 in the outside lane when she rear-ended a Dodge Grand Caravan that had slowed in front of her, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The child, Liliana Clanton, a passenger in the Chevy Spark, died in the crash. Both Foster and Clanton were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.

The driver of the Dodge, Calvin P. Odom, 69 of Middleburg, Florida had minor injuries following the crash and was taken to Jackson Hospital, according to the report.

An earlier crash on the interstate had caused traffic to back up in that portion of the Interstate 10. Charges are pending further investigation by FHP.
