NICEVILLE — The Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation recently announced North West Florida State College alumna Elsia Goss of Mary Esther, employee of the Eglin Air Force Base Child Development Center, as one of the 2018 Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children’s TYLENOL® National Child Care Teacher Award. Goss was awarded one of the top 10 spots, and was placed in the running for the Helene Marks Award and the National Child Care Teacher of the Year.
This early care and education honor is decided from a pool of applicants nationwide. Goss received an award of $1,000 on April 14 at a special ceremony at Marriot Courtyard Downtown, Philadelphia, Penn.
There are a total of 50 National Child Care Teacher Award recipients for 2018, two of which are from Florida and graduates of Northwest Florida State College. Each recipient of the Terri Lynne Lokoff National Children’s TYLENOL® Children’s ZYRTEC® Child Care Teacher Awards designed an enhancement project that illustrates the educational, social and emotional benefits for the children in their care.
"Elsia is an exemplary NWF State College alumna," NWFSC President Devin Stephenson said. "We are proud that she has used her NWF State education to extraordinarily serve our local community."
NWF alumna Tawanda Brown, owner of the Brown Family Child Care Home in Crestview, was also a recipient of the 2018 Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children’s TYLENOL® National Child Care Teacher Award.
