CRESTVIEW — A sleeping man was arrested after officers who responded to reports of the man being a public nuisance learned he had a warrant out for his arrest.

Officers responded to a residence on Riverwood Drive on Feb. 17 and found the 25-year-old Gulf Breeze man asleep on the ground inside a sleeping bag. The officers woke the man up and asked him if he had any identification, but he said he did not and instead provided officers with his name and date of birth.

Officers ran the man’s information through their system and learned he had an active warrant out of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

An officer then readied his Taser and held it by his side as he ordered the man up. The man complied with the officer and was arrested for the out-of-county warrant.
