CRESTVIEW — A 30-year-old woman was arrested after apparently finding out her husband was cheating on her, smashing the other woman’s car window with a clothing iron while the woman was on a date with her husband and charging at the woman multiple times in an attempt to assault her.
According to her arrest report from the Crestview Police Department, on Nov. 1 the woman arrived at a home on Trenton Avenue after learning that her husband was on a date with another woman. The other woman’s car was in the driveway of the home. The wife went into the home, came out with a clothing iron and smashed the passenger side windshield of the other woman’s car before driving away.
The husband and other woman arrived back at the home after the movie, discovered the smashed windshield and called police. When police arrived, the wife did, too, and told them she smashed the woman’s car “for cheating with her husband.” She told police to go ahead and place her in handcuffs and arrest her.
Police asked for her driver’s license, at which point the wife “charged” at the other woman. An officer and two witnesses grabbed the woman to keep her from attacking her, and the woman warned “she was going to get that b****.”
Officers were able to position the woman on the hood of the other woman’s car in an attempt to detain her, when she started kicking the fender and hood of the SUV. The woman attempted to pull away from the officers. While she was handcuffed and being led to a patrol vehicle, she still attempted to break free and run back to the house to attack the other woman. She again stated the officers should have arrested her earlier.
The woman then “charged” at one of the officers kicked another officer and again tried to go back to the house to attack the other woman. She was restrained with leg restraints and eventually transported to the Okaloosa County Jail.
The woman was arrested on charges of assault, criminal mischief with property damage and resisting an officer. She was booked into and released from the Okaloosa County Jail.
