CRESTVIEW — Agents at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate's Crestview office collected food items for needy students at Riverside Elementary School in Crestview.

School officials identified a group of students who go home on Fridays to empty homes, sometimes through the whole weekend, who don’t have enough groceries to fix meals for themselves, according to a media release.

Riverside prepares bags of food for these children. The bags include single-serve items that are easy to prepare and are microwaveable, like fruit pastries, Spaghetti O’s, macaroni and cheese and boxed drinks.

Marti Summit, Coldwell's Crestview branch manager, stated that agents collected enough food items that the school should be able to send bags home through the rest of the school year.
