CRESTVIEW —  The Okaloosa Arts Alliance invites all Okaloosa County school students to participate in the 8th Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest. 

The poster topic is "Summer Fun." The poster can be anything students create on paper with markers, pencils, paint, pastels, charcoal, or crayons. The alliance will select first through third place winners in the following categories:

•elementary schools, kindergarten through fourth grades.

•middle school students, fifth through seventh grades.

•high school students, eighth through 12th grades.

First place winners get a $75 gift card; second place winners will get a $50 gift card, and third place winners will get a $25 gift card.

Artwork by the first place winners will also be posted in the OAA newsletter and website. Entries may be submitted by Okaloosa schools or individual students and are restricted to one entry per student.

The deadline is May 1 to enter.

Posters should 8.5 inches by 11 inches and should include the name of the artist, their grade, and the name of their school.

Mail entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32549, or drop them off during gallery hours at the Arts & Design Society, 17 1st St. SE, Fort Walton Beach. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Participants may also submit entries from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at HH Arts, 100 Beal Parkway S., Fort Walton Beach.

All entries will be on display and the winners will be announced at a Young Philosophers Society reception. The reception is May 6 at the YPS building on Brooks Street in Fort Walton Beach. Exact times for the reception will be announced at a later date.
