More than 5,000 gallons of raw sewage got into a creek that flows into the Yellow River in Crestview.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management issued a notice of a raw sewage spill late Friday night in Crestview.
According to the notice, more than 5,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled from a lift station at the Crestview Wastewater Treatment Plant due to a power failure just before midnight. The release got offsite into a creek that flows into the Yellow River.
The notice did report that the raw sewage spill had been stopped by Saturday morning. Clean-up and repairs are ongoing.
