CRESTVIEW — A 28-year-old man told authorities that he went to his girlfriend’s house at 4 a.m. to get some stuff from her.

She was awake when he got there and started arguing with him because he’s not a Christian, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

He said the argument was verbal, but she told deputies he showed up, started breaking her things and grabbed her wrist with so much pressure that her fingers went numb.

The deputy saw a bruise on her wrist that was consistent with her account.

He was charged with battery in that case, the second time he’d been arrested in less than eight hours.

The night before, the same woman told authorities that she’d given him permission to borrow her car, but he hadn’t returned it.

When she confronted him, he picked up the keys he had just put on the kitchen counter and walked away with them, telling her, “I will do whatever I want, (expletive).”

When authorities questioned him, he said he hadn’t driven the victim’s vehicle in a week. He said he’d been using his grandmother’s car, with her permission.

He was charged with grand theft late on the night of March 6. The battery arrest was in the pre-dawn hours of March 7.
