CRESTVIEW — Officers who saw an “obvious bulge” in a suspect’s pants searched and found marijuana.

The 19-year-old Holt man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and of paraphernalia after the March 7 traffic stop.

According to his Crestview Police Department arrest report, the man was driving with an expired tag light when he was pulled over. During the traffic stop, the officer could smell marijuana emitting from the car.

Officers asked him to step out of the car while they searched him and the car. They found nothing on his person, but found a pipe, bong, two plastic bags of marijuana and an orange pill bottle with joints inside the car.

The suspect was detained and placed in the back of the patrol car, where one of the officers then noticed he had something between his legs in his pants.

That’s when they found more marijuana.

The total weight of the marijuana was 40 grams, according to his arrest report.
