BAKER — An Okaloosa County grand jury indicted Glenn Winstead, 58, for first-degree premeditated murder and violation of injunction for the murder of Daniel Flynn.
Flynn was murdered in Baker in the area of Old River Road on a private shooting range owned by members of Winstead’s family, according to the State Attorney's office.
Friends reported Flynn missing on Nov. 21, 2015 and he was not found until November 24, 2015.
Members of the Crestview Police Department, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Okaloosa Correctional Institution found Flynn's body on Nov. 24, 2015.
During the investigation, law enforcement learned that in late October, 2015, Winstead and Flynn were involved in a dispute over money.
On Nov. 20, 2015, Winstead and Flynn agreed to meet at a School Avenue house in Crestview and then go to a private shooting range off of Old River Road.
After leaving the residence, no witnesses saw Flynn alive again.
Winstead was tied to the murder through forensic evidence and witness statements, according to the State Attorney's office.
The investigation was conducted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of Crestview Police Department, Okaloosa Correctional Institution, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Jonathan Schlechter.
