CRESTVIEW — Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Michael Card has graduated from the FBI’s National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the program offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership and fitness training for selected officers with proven records as professionals within their agencies.
“Captain Card’s recent graduation is a source of pride for all of us here at the Sheriff’s Office and it will greatly benefit our agency and the citizens we serve,” said Sheriff Larry Ashley. "Graduates bring back new partnerships and probable solutions to many complex and contemporary challenges facing our profession.
"Knowing Mike, I think our greatest challenge as an agency will be trying to keep pace with all the new things he will want to implement upon his return.”
On average, FBI National Academy Program graduates typically return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.
Card was among 230 law enforcement officers — representing 47 states, 27 international countries, four military organizations, and two federal civilian organizations — who successfully completed the program Dec. 11.
