“For every good skate scene, there’s a good skate shop.”
On May 1, 2007, George Andreozzi opened the doors of his skate shop, “Olive Skateboards.” His new shop hopes to bring big impact on flipping the stereotype of skateboarding.
“I want the community to know that this place is here to promote a safe and relaxed environment for skaters to get together.”
Communities all over the nation look to skateboarding as a means of mischief and rebellion. Many people don’t understand the talent, mentality, and discipline that go into being a skater.
Andreozzi has been skating for over 20 years and his background is not only against the stereotypes, but admirable.
Andreozzi,, 31, graduated from Niceville High School in the class of ’93 and later joined the Air Force, serving for over 10 years.
“The Air Force sent me to Hurlburt, Germany, and California. I’ve skated everywhere.”
The skate shop offers top of the line skateboards, knowledge of the products, and even a small ramp in the back for skaters to have a good time. The shop held a grand opening celebration on May 5, 2007, which was a big success.
“We had a great time with the opening.”
Andreozzi hopes that his shop will hint the community for a public skate park, one that is free of charge and acts as a flagship to show that skateboarding is as equal as anything else.
“The shop is the least I can do for skaters in the community.”
The shop is located on 124 John King Road, Crestview, Florida. You can contact the shop at (850) 398-5899.
