Zessin credits Miller for the work she did in teaching the players the game last year. He said she did a good job of teaching the fundamentals.

A team that is sound fundamentally and has some nice talent too could as the Hoboes do, could make give people problems this year.

A pair of 6-footers, senior Jhanea Griffin and freshman Kaylee L'Homme, will present problems to most 1A teams. Griffin and L'Homme will be joined at hitter by Zessin and Lauren Gordon.

Breanna Trunk and Morgan Meeks will be the setters. Ashley Hatfield and Chloe Talaric also will see plenty of playing time.

Laurel Hill will play in the newly aligned District 1-1A with Central and Bethlehem.

If the Hoboes can end the regular season as the top seed in the district, they will assure themselves a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

The automatic playoffs spot makes earning that No. 1 seed that much more important.
