CRESTVIEW — Fort Walton Beach receiver Marquese Davenport lived up to his Dandy Dozen billing Friday night scoring three touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a 35-18 win over Crestview.

Davenport had 138 yards in total offense with 109 yards rushing on 10 carries will taking snaps in the Viking wildcat package. He added another 29 yards receiving on one reception.

“There’s no doubt he’s a playmaker for us,” Viking coach Mike Owens said of Davenport. “We had to have a little plan for him at quarterback because we have a lot of guys beat up there so we did have that plan and he did a great job.”

Davenport gave the Vikings (3-2) the lead they would never relinquish when he scored from three yards out to cap an eight-play, 43 yard drive that was marred by penalties against both teams.

The Bulldogs (1-4) responded with five-play, 60-yard drive. Emmanuel Reed had a big 33-yard run on fourth and inches to keep the drive alive. On the next play, Jaylynne Robinson scored on a 17-yard run.

The Bulldogs looked to have kicked the game-tying extra point, but were called for holding. The second try was wide and the Bulldogs found themselves playing from behind all night.

Midway through the second quarter it looked as if Lady Luck was smiling on Crestview. The Vikings mishandled a snap on a punt and Crestview had the ball inside the Fort Walton Beach 10-yard line.
