BAKER — It has been more than a decade since Baker School’s football team started a season 4-0.

It has been so long that longtime Gator assistant coach and former Baker player Brian Wagner can't remember when the team was last undefeated at the point in the season.

The Gators (3-0) are coming off an open date after a 55-6 win over Holmes County. Baker travels to Destin Middle School on Friday to play  Rocky Bayou Christian School in a 7 p.m. game.

The Knights (2-2) have won their last two games and they have the attention of Gator head coach Matt Brunson.

"They are on a two-game winning streak," he said. "Levi Derry (Rocky Bayou's top running back) is a very capable back. They have a very athletic quarterback and their running back is as good as any."

Brunson said the Knights will run a spread offense and line up in a five-man front on defense. Rocky Bayou's size up front is similar to Baker's.

Brunson said the Gator offense will line it up and see if they can knock some holes in the Knight defense.
