BAKER — The Baker girls soccer team had another day of growing pains Saturday as the Gators hosted Port St. Joe in a doubleheader.

Baker lost the first game 4-0 before. After taking a break for the boys to play, the Gators lost 2-1 in the second game to fall to 3-8 on the season.

The first game was closer than the final score indicated, as Baker held the Sharks scoreless throughout the first half.

However, when things went downhill for the Gators, they snowballed quickly.

Port St. Joe scored the afternoon’s first goal on a rebound play early in the second half. The Sharks added a goal midway through the half before scoring twice late in the game to seal the win.

Baker coach Tammy Kerrell had seen her team’s strong effort fall apart in a matter of minutes before.
