Raiders come back to beat Bulldogs

The Bulldogs still led 14-6 when the Raiders took possession of the ball at their own 41-yard line with 1:26 left in the game.

A quick 12-yard pass from Teddy Harrell gave the Raiders a first down at the Crestview 47.

Harrell’s next pass was incomplete. And on the next play Derek Smith raced 47 yards for a touchdown to pull the Raiders within two points with a little more than a minute to play.

All the Bulldogs had to do was hold onto the football and run out the clock. But the unthinkable happened and the usually reliable Reed had the ball knocked loose. Navarre recovered the fumble on the Crestview 31-yard line with 58 seconds left.

A pass interference call against the Bulldogs gave the Raiders a first down at the Crestview 16. Two plays later Harrell found Quentin Randolph with a 14-yard touchdown pass with 34.3 second left that turned out to be the game winner.

Out of timeouts, and 70 yards from the end zone, the Bulldogs were forced to try and work the sidelines so they could get out of bounds to stop the clock.

Foster hit Robinson with a pass good for five yards and Reed with a 2-yard pass. Forced out of the pocket on a third-and-3, Foster scrambled 12 yards for a first down at the 49.
