Pirates take down Hoboes

The Pirates did most of their damage on the freebies the Hoboes gave them.

PDL did manage seven hits three of which came in the first inning.

The Laurel Hill offense never did find an answer for Pirate pitcher Zach Johnson.

Johnson gave up a one-out walk to Cooper in the second inning. Cooper stole second base and third base. He scored on a throwing error by Johnson.

In the fourth inning, Cooper drove a hanging curve ball by Johnson to center for a double and the first Hobo hit of the game. Sam Durm had the only other Hobo hit, a sixth inning single.

Johnson finished the game with seven strike outs while walking three Laurel Hill batters.
