DESTIN — The Shoal River girls cross country team continued a record-setting season Oct. 27, when they won the Destin 3K Invitational.

The win — following the Lady Mustangs’ Okaloosa County championship — served as a tune-up, as they will be in Lakeland today for the middle school state championships.

The team’s top five runners received top 15 medals. Running in the Championship Division and coming in fourth place overall was Chelsea Aguilar with a time of 12:42, fifth place was Acevedo with 12:43, sixth place was  Jaylah Lawson with 12:44, seventh place was Alyssa Johnson with 12:46 and 14th overall was Amia'h Banks with 13:00. 

Gracie Gillis was 19th overall with 13:30 and, coming in 25th overall, was sixth-grader Caelyn Grodoski at 13:39.  

Two team members — Jazmyn Martinez, 14:05, and Caitlin Price, 15:07 —ran in the open division and received medals for second and ninth place overall, respectively.

Kailey Johnson clocked in at 17:07.
