BAKER — The Baker School baseball team's Monday night win over Crestview High School gives the Gators big momentum heading into next week's District 3-1A tournament at Chipley.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will try to regroup before starting play Tuesday in the District 1-7A tournament at Niceville.

Monday was a big night for Baker's baseball team as the Class 1A Gators upset Class 7A Crestview 5-3.

Senior pitcher Jake Rainey stood tall on the mound as Baker earned its first win in recent memory over the Bulldogs. Rainey went six innings and allowed one earned run.

Mason Lowery worked the seventh inning on the mound for the Gators to pick up the save.

Austin Davis led the Baker attack with 2 hits. Jacob Nixon, Austin Hicks and Lowery each had a hit.


●Baker vs. Jay District 3-1A: 4 p.m. Monday, Chipley High School

●Crestview vs. Tate District 1-7A: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Niceville High School
