After the freshmen and junior varsity teams played a scoreless first half it was the Patriots that drew first blood.

Neither team’s varsity was unable to score on its first possession. A Pace punt pinned the Bulldogs inside their own 10-yard line on their second possession of the night.

Unable to move the ball, Crestview punted to the Bulldog 25 where Patriot tailback Quaide Weimerskirch took over.

Weimerskirch, who finished the night with 128 yards on 16 carries had four carries for 20 yards on the short drive to put Pace up 7-0 with 11:56 left in the game.

And then things got interesting.

The Bulldogs responded with 10-play, 68-yard drive in which they had to score twice to one touchdown.

Jaylynne Robinson was the workhorse on the drive with carries and receptions totaling 33 yards.
