Dungan, Eagles blank Bulldogs

Niceville (5-3, 3-1) took it to Crestview (6-5, 2-2) literally from the opening pitch.

Eagle leadoff man Drew Frederic connected on a double on the first pitch offered by Crestview staring pitcher Justin Abdo.

Frederic was picked off second by Bulldog catcher Austin Armstrong, but his hit set the tone for things to come.

Andrew Engle followed Frederic and drew a walk from Abdo. Cody Moore was next and singled. Engle and Frederic both came in to score as Niceville took a lead that would never be challenged.

The Eagles broke the game open with a 5-run third as they sent 10 batters to the plate and pounded out five hits. Abdo's night was done the Bulldogs with two runs in and the bases loaded.

Jordan Chamberlain replaced Abdo on the mound with nobody out after a Chase Outzen single scored Moore, who led off the inning with a walk.

The big blow of the inning was a 2-run single by Zander Huff.
