The Bulldogs (0-1) finally got on the scoreboard with 3:17 left in the first quarter on a pair of free throws by Lakayla Robinson.

Choctaw extended the lead to 22-10 at the half behind the strong post play of Nadia Fingall.

Crestview got a second-quarter boost from Nyquala Collins who scored all six of her points in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs were only outscored by the Indians by three points in second half; A large part  Crestview's success was thanks to a pair of 3-pointers by KK McTear in the third quarter and an 11-point explosion by Arianna Simms in the fourth quarter.

In the end staying close in the second half wasn't enough for the Bulldogs to overcome their slow start.

Choctaw coach Don Brown was satisfied with what he considered a typical first game.

"We didn't get to play any preseason games," he said. "We just had the opportunity to scrimmage against our own selves so it was good to get out here and play. We've been working all summer for this moment and it is finally here.
