CRESTVIEW — A trip to the Florida High School Athletic Association boys basketball Final Four is on the line Saturday, when Crestview High School hosts Oviedo High School in the Class 7A region finals.
Game time is 6 p.m. at the arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. The game was moved to the college because the Crestview gym does not meet the minimal, 1,100 seating capacity required by the FHSAA.
Bulldog Coach Greg Watson isn't concerned about the venue change.
"We look at it as all positive," he said. "I told our guys the Final Four is not going to be held at Crestview High School, so in order for us to win it all, we are going to have to go win it in a place like this. I see it as a great opportunity.
"It's a great arena to play in. Hopefully, we are still going to have a bunch of Crestview people there to support us, so it's not like we are going on the road. It's just a different gym. Most of the guys have been to games down there and have been in the arena and they are excited to play there."
