CRESTVIEW — Tyler Henderson delivered a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning and Davis Champion went the distance on the mound to help lead Crestview High School’s baseball team to a 4-1 win over Rehobeth, Ala., on Tuesday.

“Davis kind of battled and hung in there and gave us a chance to win,” Bulldog coach Tim Gillis said. “Then, Tyler got the big hit there in the sixth. He got a breaking ball and he didn’t miss it.

“It was a good win. I knew it was going to be a tough day, but we hung in there and got it done.”

Henderson, who was 2-for-2 with two walks, scored an insurance run for the Bulldogs when the Rebels tried to throw him out at third base.

Champion turned in a solid effort, striking out three and walking two while scattering six hits in picking up the win.

Rehobeth struck first, scoring a run in the top of the second when Ben Holloway led the inning with a double and scored on a Seth Arroyo two-out single.

The Rebels took the 1-0 lead into the fifth inning as Arroyo worked around trouble, stranding nine Bulldogs on base.
