CRESTVIEW — Friday was another night of winning ugly for the Crestview baseball team as the Bulldogs beat Fort Walton Beach 8-5 in District 2-6A play

Three night after capitalizing on five Niceville errors in a 6-3 win, Crestview managed to scrape together eight runs despite managing just three hits.

"It was an ugly win, but it is a win and we are happy to get it," Crestview coach Tim Gillis said. "I give them a lot of credit for battling back.

"I'm not real happy with the way we finished the game, but ultimately in this league you are happy to get a win."

Walks turned out to be the undoing of Viking starting pitcher Kevin Jones. Jones walked five Crestview batters in a little more than one inning of work and all five of the batters walked came around to score.

By the time Nick Boswell took over Jones with no out in the second inning the Bulldogs were up 4-0 and had the bases loaded.

Jimmy Croussore greeted Boswell with a single to center score Hunter Sullivan and Tate Sweatt. Justin Abdo moved to third on the play and scored as Tyler Henderson delivered a sacrifice fly to right field.
