Bulldogs come up short

Armstrong teamed up with Foster again on another pass play, but Foster fumbled and Tate recovered at the Bulldog 35-yard line.

Tate needed just five plays to cover the 35 yards. Jesse Samuel scored on a 5-yard touchdown run and Dylan Mancusco kicked what turned out to be the winning extra point with 9:48 left in the quarter.

A 62-yard touchdown pass from Armstrong to Jaylynne Robinson with 3:57 left in the quarter pulled Crestview to within a point of the Aggies, but Tyler Hancock’s extra point was wide of the mark leaving Tate with final advantage of a single point.

“We had our opportunities,” Bulldog Coach Tim Hatten. “This is a fun game, but when you make mistakes it’s going to cost you. And we made some mistakes and turned the ball over and it cost us.”

Crestview closes out the season against Pensacola High at 7 p.m. Friday at Jack Foster Stadium.
