CRESTVIEW — Parys Alexander and Kelsie Dardon will have a little extra help for college tuition.
It's due in part to their athleticism and leadership.
Alexander and Dardon are this year's Whitney Megan Langley Memorial Softball Scholarship recipients.
Whitney, a Bulldogs pitcher from 2003–2006 who loved playing softball, died in 2007 from injuries received in a car accident.
“Whitney is forever loved and greatly missed,” the Langley family said in a statement.
The family's scholarship, in her memory, is awarded to seniors who display hard work, leadership and dedication to the game.
Whitney’s family expressed gratitude for Shelia Cheek's donation of dimes to the scholarship fund.
